Kansas DCF lists FCT in Prevention Newsletter

October 2019, Kansas Department of Children and Families has released Issue 1 of its Prevention Newsletter citing FCT as 1 of 3 evidence-based services to serve families with children at imminent risk of entering foster care.

DCCA has been selected to implement FCT as part of the States’ Family Preservation services.

“Family preservation gives DCCCA the opportunity to combine our strengths—substance use disorder treatment, home based services through our child placing agency and community-based services through our prevention work. By leveraging these foundational services, we can support families, increase family connections and networks, and strengthen them through intensive services setting them up for success with their children. We will apply evidence-based practices and programs to elevate positive outcomes for families.” — Lori Alvarado, CEO

Additionally, Saint Francis Ministries, an existing FCT provider in Nebraska and Arkansas will soon be providing, Family Centered Treatment, which has been independently reviewed by two states as ‘Well-Supported’ as part of the Family First Act in the state.
